My brother's cat, a sweet long-haired tuxedo, named Gracie, got into some tylenol in the bathroom about an hour ago. She's at the vet's now. I told him to tell the vet to administer N-acetyl-cysteine to help detox the liver. Tylenol is extremely toxic to cats.

Can we also get some distance healing going too?

Thanks...

Lorie

Lorie, a cat-lover here, big-time. I'm sending to Gracie as soon as I finish posting this! Please let us know how she is doing...I know Tylenol is toxic. Thanks for the photo -- it helps.

Love to you all.

My brother called, the vet is optimistic because his girlfriend found her so fast. TV, one of their other cats alerted her and took her to the bathroom upstairs where she found Gracie. Marcia is going to pick her up from the vets at 5 and take her to the emergency vet hospital for overnight. I told Marcia to give me a call tonight for an update, will post.

Thanks Lorie

UPDATE:

Gracies' recent labs look "good". Marcia and her grandson went to go see her today and she was alert, and glad to see them. My brother reports that she might even be able to go home tomorrow. My brother has sent a very grateful Thank-you for all your help.

Gracie is a sweet little girl that belonged to a girl who lived across the street from my mom. Her former owner ignored her and neglected her to the point of maybe remembering to feed her. She was kept outside. Gracie tried to adopt herself out to my mother and to several neighbors.

The picture I posted of her was at my house in August 2007. She had had 6 kittens weeks earlier in a neighbor's backyard. That neighbor called the Humane Society and they picked her up. After my mom finally tracked her down, after looking for her for 2 weeks, we brought her home with 6 two week old kittens. They were dirty and she was emaciated (you could see her hip bones) and she had so little milk the babies were feeding constantly. She was so malnourished that she didn't have the strength to eat or groom her babies.

This picture you see is after I managed to put 3 pounds on her. I fed her 4 times a day, home cooked meals and hand fed her babies until she was strong enough to take over. My brother had decided early on that her new name would be Gracie and he would take her home to live with him. We lost one of her little boys when he was about 3 weeks old. But the other five, 2 girls and 3 boys are big and beautiful. Saraphena a all black longhaired beauty lives with her mom. Pepper, a handsome black and white, short-haired tuxedo and George a short-haired grey and white tuxedo who looks like Gracie, both live with my mom. Leo, a big strapping long-haired black and white tuxedo and his sister a Harlequin, a black and white short-haired found a home together with a customer of my brother (he's in sales in the gift industry).

Thank you for being there for her and helping her recover so quickly.

Here's a picture of her little ones: (backrow left to right: Saraphena, Pepper, Harlequin and front row left to right: George and Leo)
