About a week ago my cat Slinky came home with a bald spot, where the hair looked as if it had been scraped off the top of his head. It also looked like he might have been bitten by something. The rest of the hair on his head was stiff like dried hair gel. I washed his head and wiped it down with peroxide and then kept him in for a couple of days. He seemed absolutely fine, so I let him back out, but have been keeping him in at night. He came home one more time with the stiff hair on top, but no additional marks... Tonight over a week later he came home with a bite by that thin membrane skin by his ear and his eyes are swollen. He clearly has a raging infection... he slept with me as usual last night and was completely fine this morning when I left for work.

There is absolutely nothing I can do tonight. I washed him down with peroxide before he dove under the bed. I will take him to the vet tomorrow first thing..... Please send healing to him tonight and on going for awhile. This could be tricky since the infection is in his head. Thank you all so much!

I just saw this, Nancy...and am sending to Slinky now + on list. I can't imagine what he's coming in contact with, or who. Could something be leaking from a car, maybe? Does he go under parked cars? It sounds like a chemical burn of some kind. Anti-freeze? If they lick on anti-freeze, it is a strong poison, but not sure if it can cause a burn or erosion like that.

Please keep us posted!

Love to you and Slinks.

Thank you so much for your healing work. Last night Slinky's eyes were so swollen they were just slits. I washed him up with peroxide and worked on him, as well. This morning there was little or no swelling. You are all amazing!!!

The vet said he tangled with another cat and was sure it was not a raccoon. That really surprises me as he is not a fighter as a rule, unless provoked. All my kitties get along with the other cats in the neighborhood, amazingly well. The doc also said he is otherwise a very healthy cat. He'll be inside and on anti-biotics for awhile.

Thank you again!

Congrats on your good work! I don't know if this is a problem there, but MN is seeing more feral cats and surprisingly, mountain lions in suburbs of Minneapolis. I mean, in people's yards, where their kids and pets play. One was seen again about a week ago, & caught on video, in Eagan, which is not a rural suburb. Scary.

At any rate, I'm glad he will be OK!

Love to you.

And on your work as well Ali, thank you.

Here we have a raccoon problem. I don't think we have the cougars or mt. lions here on this side of the valley where the coastal mts. are, but they might have more incidences east of here being seen. No news of them being spotted that I've heard recently. I have seen them on the news though in places you wouldn't think they'd be and yes, very scary. I wonder what is bringing them down?
