Hello all The latest from Liz, just received:

Elizabeth continues to improve. She is more awake and is able to smile.
She is still on the vent for now, but hopefully will be off it tomorrow. Liz says they are all feeling happy now.

This is such good news and I thank you all, each one of you, for your input and assistance with this. If I had been sending alone I would have felt very pressured, and I appreciate the support and healing you have provided to all of us.

I would be grateful if Elizabeth could remain in your prayers, and - if possible - that you continue to send, so that her recovery can continue easily and smoothly. I'll continue to update as and when I hear.

Not much change over the last few days - small improvements, but still on the vent... all signs ok. So baby steps, but at least things are headed in the right direction.

Liz and Martin are planning to return to the US on Friday.

Today's update: Elizabeth is doing better today. She is still on the vent but she's more awake and able to communicate more too. She won't be able to talk until the vent is removed.

Better news!

Elizabeth came off the vent for nearly FIVE HOURS today! She's back on it tonight so that she can get a decent night's sleep.

Another update from Liz

Elizabeth was brighter tonight and had some more time without the vent today. Using a picture board, she managed to communicate that she wanted her walker, and also some food so everyone was pleased by that.

Liz and Martin fly home (to the US) tomorrow then Martin flies back to Scotland again next week Hope he gets air miles!

Just had another update, cutting and pasting it over before I get up for work:

Just wanted to let you all know that Elizabeth has made good progress this week, she is no longer on the vent at all and it breathing on her own!! She managed to drink some water today and even talk a tiny bit (must be a relief after 2 weeks – one week fully conscious!)

They are ready to move her to the High Dependency Unit but there aren’t any beds at the moment so she will stay in ICU until there is.

Martin flies up tomorrow night till Monday AM so its great that he will be able to see her having made so much progress! Also the ICU visiting times are very strict so hopefully if she gets moved asap they/Danny can visit her for longer and at a more convenient time?

So keep up the prayers/healing/positive thoughts!!

That is great news. Hope she gets to be moved soon. It does a lot mentally when you get moved to a different level of care and they start taking away medical equipment.
