Hello Fambly~

I just got off the phone with my younger brother Larry. Our Mother Jean Benjamin was taken to the Providence Hospital ER in Centralia, WA for severe rectal bleeding. Apparently, she has been bleeding for 3 days but refused to tell anyone. Our Dad, Bill is with her, but we don’t expect to hear anything until later this evening.

Her health has been declining and her diabetes has been getting worse, but nothing I know of would have caused this. At 67, she really isn’t that old. I plan on finding out more before I tell Skyler as they are very close and he has enough problems for an 8 year old, and doesn’t need to add worrying about his Grandma to it.

Thank you Christina & Denise. I just got off the phone with my Dad... they have been in the ER for over 5 hours and the Doctor still hasn't been in to see them. I am trying to take that as a good sign - that the situation isn't that bad, rather than something negative about the hospital.

I made my Dad promise to call me as soon as they find out something - at which time I will pass it on.

Well, finally heard back – after a multitude of tests, the conclusion is that they don’t know what’s going on. Big surprise there! Turns out that instead of 3 days like my brother told me, it has been going on for two weeks. Two weeks of bleeding diarrhea and bleeding vomit. They released her with instructions to see her personal doctor ASAP and to keep hydrated.

I spoke with her on the phone and asked her why she didn’t tell anyone. She said she was afraid if she said anything, they were going to take her to the hospital and she was afraid she might make a mess on the way. In a weird sort of way I can see her thinking that, but it didn’t feel like the whole answer. Of the top of my head, I asked her if she was hoping if she waited long enough, that she would die from it. She wouldn’t answer me, which leads me to believe that I hit the answer on the head. I don’t know if she consciously thought that, or if it was more of an unconscious possibility.

I understand the pain and misery that she is in, but she has to know that as soon as she goes, my Dad will too. Her’s is the strength and will in the relationship.

Beyond the physical needs, I feel what they most need is peace of mind and clarity of thought. If these are the kinds of decisions she is wrestling with, then peace and clarity are more important than nearly anything else.

As of last night, they have not been able to get her into see her doctor yet (not sure the reason). The symptoms are continuing as before. Larry got back last night, so hopefully he will get her in today.

Could this be a hidden aneurism? kinda sounds that way. How much blood has she lost, can anyone tell as yet?
She may be getting transfusions now: Do you need volunteers for blood?

We can do a great deal in that manner, certainly.

Hi Norm,

I just finished my session with your mother. Even though her bleeding may look like it is slowing down, I would suggest that she continue to seek medical treatment. I see a tear in her colon area and I see pools of blood gathering. She said she really doesn't want to go to the doctor, and I think she may be depressed. I filled her with all the colors and love.

I spoke with my brother last night and they finally got her into the doctor Friday afternoon. He claims it is just a severe case of hemorrhoids, but I have a hard time attributing all of the symptoms to just that. However, from what Larry said, the bleeding has been stopped.

I don’t feel that this is over, even though I want it to be. So I am going to ask that you continue to keep her on your lists for a while longer. Thank you all for your thoughts and energy. Thank you Mhari for the session and for taking a look inside – I feel your thoughts are more in line with reality than her doctor’s.
