While in the past I've posted for friends and family with health issues, this is the very first time on this board I am asking for healing energy for myself. I'm a 56 year old in good physical shape who eats well and exercises. About a week ago I started to feel a little tightness in my chest and pekid while running or riding my bike. This shortness of breath during aerobic activity got worse to the point where I had to give up my exercise program and even had difficulty climbing a flight of stairs this morning. I would be most grateful to anyone who can send me some healing energy or even tell me what is at the root of this problem, which could be anything from a lung infection, pulminary embullism or coronary condition.
thanks

Rob you're correct in your list of "possibles." Add congestive heart failure to the list. All of them are serious, but it needs a diagnosis, so a trip to the doctor in short order would be recommendation number one!

I'll put you on my list for distant. Please let us know how you're doing.

(((((((((((((((Rob))))))))))))) and Love to you.

Hey, Robert! You need to research the benefits of cayenne. My father had congestive heart failure, and couldn't have lived without his red pepper. It sounds like you definitely COULD have a sort of heart problem, and you have to get it checked out.

I get palpitations and pains every once in a while, and running energy straight to the heart usually helps.

Something else I've found helpful, is something I read in Yogi Ramacharaka's books. He says your cells all understand you, and that you should get their attention and talk to them. He says heart cells are smart, so you would do something along these lines:

Tap lightly about your heart two or three times, and say, Hey Heart Cells! Then tell them they need to relax and take it easy, and that everything is okay. Tell them to calm down, and you can even tell them about what pulse they should start beating at. If the heartbeat is irregular, tell them to relax and even out.

Just stuff like that. I have tried that many times, and about 80 percent of the time it really helps. I usually take a cayenne or two right after that to get everything settled down (they usually work within 5 minutes for me).

I also will lie down, close my eyes, and take deep breaths; that usually relaxes your heart.

(I actually usually do all the above. I have noticed that since I've been eating so many raw foods, that I rarely have any heart episodes anymore unless I eat a lot of sugar, which has always raised my pulse. But not eating sugar anymore, so hopefully that won't be a problem!)

By the way! You can also tap on your lungs to get THEIR attention, and talk to your lung cells! (I actually believe it was the liver cells he said were the most dense, and you had to really smack at them a little harder to get their attention, and really lay it on with them, and be bossy with them. It was really funny!

I think all this was in his book Hatha Yoga, which is an excellent book for general health by the way. And he explains the cells and the cell minds, and how to communicate with them; it's extraordinary reading!

If you should have any problems with your heart and want to look at any herbs, Dick Quinn's books are very good. They are the ones that my Pa used for his illness.

Cayenne has stopped heart attacks and is VERY important to have around, just in general. JUST IN CASE YOU EVER need it! (It also stops bleeding for cuts and things; a styptic!)

Good luck! I hope your problems are not serious at all. Will send you some energy now!

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention! YR also has a small book called The Science of Breath which is just phenomenal. It describes different types of yogi breathing for different things. The Yogi Complete Breath being about the most recommended. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

I used the book while I was first leaning QT and learning Richard's book. I was trying to figure out the correct way to breathe, and just wasn't having any luck. I then remembered this book I had gotten from my father over 25 years ago. When I found it, it was perfect for giving correct breathing techniques. This technique also could help when you have breathing difficulties!

Dear Ali and Tweasel Oak,
Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice. I have felt a good sense of improvement yesterday, and was able to do some aerobic activity with deep breathing techniques. A runner friend of mine tends to think it is an upper respiratory infection, but I am listening to my body and will see a doctor Monday. Interestingly, I was told that Mercury is in retrograde, a period when things tend to go wrong, and the week before, I got 4 tire flats on my bike while riding,as if I was getting a warning or if the tires were losing air rather than my pulminary system.

I will definitely try the tapping and look inot the breathing book, Tweasel Oak, and am most grateful for your advice.
Many thanks,
Robert

Many thanks Pinky and Molinda for sending me your much appreciated healing energy. I've had two days where I was able to do aerobic workouts jogging on an indoor treadmill by keeping the speed down no ill effects, so I feel a bit relieved, but felt the heaviness in my chest this morning with a heavy rain outside.
Tweasel Oak, I got the "cool" cayeene pills yesterday and took 2 of them and one this morning. I feel they make my heart race, which suggests what I have is more in the lungs. I may be wrong, but it seems I would have had more an indication of heart issues before, and when I do anerobic exercise with weights which axes the heart, I don't have a problem at all.

I will see a doctor tomorrow and file a report. Thanks to all who've looked in on my request,
Robert

Rob, it's difficult/impossible to separate heart and lung issues. The proper term is "cardiopulmonary" for that very reason, because heart & lungs are like one organ in function.

I'm glad you're seeing the doctor.

Love to you.

I just visited the doctor, who was almost certain that what I have is exercise induced asthma, which I guess is better than a cardio condition. I will be using an inhaler before exercising and see what difference it makes in my ability to breath. I never had asthma before but the all symptoms seem consistent to what I imagine it would be like. It can develop into a chronic condition, which I hope it won't.
My deepests thanks to all for your thoughts, energy and advice.
Robert

I jut wanted to post a final update, my breathing problems and chest tingling have greatly subsided. I have not have to use the inhaler, but we did have a cold snap yesterday and running outside I didn't feel I wanted to press my luck with the breathing so went at a slow pace for a short distance.

Thanks to all for your energy and thoughts!
love
