Hi David:

So sorry you are having trouble. My daughter had most of her lower teeth pulled and upper wisdom teeth pulled over several appointments. After the major work had been done, she started seeing a homeopathic/M.D. doctor for another reason. The M.D./homeopath suggested we try Arnica an hour before the appointment and asap after the appointment and then take a sip every 30 minutes as needed for several days afterwards. I can tell you I noticed a difference in how Jenn responded and felt with and without the Arnica.

You can get the remedy at most health food stores or vitamin shops. The highest strength they probably have is 30C or 30X. You can take according to the package directions.

Another way is to take 4-6 pills/pellets and put in a bottle of pure water and let it dissolve. Take a sip every 30 minutes if needed. HOWEVER, before you take a sip, bang the bottle on the palm of your hand for 5 times. This help to disperse the remedy throughout the water.

Do not touch the pellets/pills, pour into the cap and drop into the bottle or onto a spoon to take by mouth. Do not eat or drink for 20 minutes before or after taking except for water. Things to avoid while doing so are essential oils, mint mouthwash and toothpaste, smoking or sore muscle rubs such as ben gay or products with strong odors.

If this were happening to me, I'd add homeopathic Hypericum (dental pain, nerve pain and healing), homeopathic Ruta (healing for the surface of the jawbone, plus healing for any fibrous tissue), and homeopathic Silica (said to dissolve bone chips and help the body push out splinters). You might add Staphysagria (pain from cutting with sharp instrument, esp if you are really bothered by moments of injustice). The Hypericum is something you can take pretty much as needed for pain, the others probably 2-3x/day. I tend to use 30x strength, a measure of how often it was diluted when made. Oddly, the higher the number, the stronger the remedy.

Also, you might use a mouth rinse of Hypericum and Calendula (a squirt of each tincture in a cup of water). Tincture Hypericum is also called St John's wort. These are great for infection control and promoting healing. Or perhaps salt water rinses. Or colloidal silver rinses, that is, if you have a little colloidal silver generator (then it's cheap, otherwise ridiculously pricey)
