Just to let everyone know, she's actually already doing better - I REALLY appreciate your help. Last night, half her words would make sense and half would be gobbledygook - Although she's still having difficulty, she was much, much clearer when I talked to her this afternoon. I will be going out to California tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and won't have access to a computer - I'll update you when I get back...

Long ago, in 1987, my mother suffered a severe left hemisphere stroke. She was unable to move and/or speak. The doctors could not assure me that she was able to understand if I tried to speak to her. I tried anyway. I got her to blink (one blink = yes, two blinks = no). We were able to communicate with this method. I just knew that she knew and felt everything...but she could not speak or gesture.

She was very artistic and creative. I encouraged her therapists to hand her a paint brush...a crayon...or anything like that. She eventually was able to move her right hand and draw things. She could sing songs but not talk. How strange, but how it made sense...her left, logical, brain was damaged...her right, creative brain, was okay.

Try to stimulate the side of the brain that was not hurt by the stroke. Maybe you will get some hopeful results. I am sending energy as best I can to you both.

Play her favorite music for her to hear...give her beautiful flowers to see and smell and touch. Read poetry to her...simple things that are light hearted like you would to a child. This cannot hurt.

Hi, Everyone - I got back last week from California and just realized I have not let you guys know what happened -

It turns out the symptoms were not from a stroke, but from flaws in the electrical system of my mom's heart, which resulted in it slowing down and sometimes stopping for a little bit, which in turn resulted in massive loss of blood to the brain - hence, the stroke-like symptoms. They put in a pacemaker while I was out there, so she should be good to go now.

Your distant healings and prayers were amazing - as I said, she was already significantly better by the time I got out there, and she is now absoluately fine, with just a few minor memories missing - I can't express how much I appreciate the time you took to send your loving energy my mother's way!
