Calling in the troops Fambly,

Since last Wednesday I have been working on my friend Susanne. She has agreed that I can call in the troops. She has damaged something somewhere in behind her knee but with continued walking around keeps re taring it. She has been checked for blood clots and such, was on blood thinners. She had ultra sound yesterday and the blood draining is in the muscle which causes severe pain and swelling. She says this is as painful as when she broke her foot and she has a very high pain tolerance. Now she is forbidden to get up unless it is to use the washroom and with crutches. We are an army of friends going to help her alternate ice and heat on her leg and help her with meals as she lives alone. After I give her a session the swelling goes down and then it comes back up again.

If these three days don't help clear it up then it is an MRI.

I hope to offer her a session tomorrow. but I feel I need to call in the troops for a bit more of a dose of healing energy coming her way.Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Thanks Jana and Cindysue and all you silent angels,

I was over to help Susanne get breakfast yesterday and to ice and heat her leg. The swelling is down but still a lot of pain. I am going over to help her with breakfast today and to later this afternoon take her to physio appointment. After all of that I will let you know what is going on. Unfortunately I will be leaving on Saturday for a week so I will just be able to offer distant help from then on. I sure appreciate your help. Thank you so much fambly.

Susanne has been such a blessing in my life through hard and good times and in the life of my kids. She is truly a special friend.

I spent most of the day with my friend. We got back from physio and now the ultimatum is Susanne must stay off of her leg for two weeks. When you live alone that is hard. I am leaving next week for a week so it will be more complicated for her. Everyone else works and i am of right now so it works for me to be able to take her around for errands and do her breakfast. My son is helping her and a neighbor She is 70 years young but slowing down is something she doesn't like to do. she is rather timeless!If she would have stayed off of her leg to begin with, she would have not got to this point. She has torn muscles in 3 different places. It is really bad right now. She has had several lectures about listening to her body. It is a good lesson for me too. I can be known to push the limit at times.

Anyway thanks so much for your help. Susanne really appreciates it and me too!

Thanks Fambly,

The swelling is way down On Susanne's leg especially around her knee. You can now see the bruising coming out which you couldn't before with all the swelling.
I took her to the chiropractor today and that helped her hip that was out out from the limping.
she is still on crutches and will be until the end of the week. No walking what-soever.

Thanks for helping her get this far. Her leg is not as sore as before.

I am away for a week so I will check back in with you on the 12th.

susanne is doing much better and walking with the help of one crutch right now. I will go to see her to night, jsut had a short conversation with her so will get more details. she is still being careful to not do too much or use the leg too much

I saw my friend last night and her ankle is one third the size it was a week ago when i last saw it. the swelling has really gone down! the pain now is localized behind the knee where it all started. three more weeks of walking with crutches and she should be able to do gentle hiking and walking
