I believe the Ramada New Yorker offers special rates for people attending things at the Meta Center, but I can't say I recommend the hotel. I stayed there a couple years ago and it was pretty bad. The Affinia Manhattan hotel is right across the street from Penn Station, and just a couple of blocks from the Meta Center. It is quite pleasant and reasonably priced (for NYC).

It really comes down to how much you are willing to spend. As you know, there are hundreds of New York Hotels and they all offer many different amenities. If you are willing to spend a lot of money there are some awesome New York Hotel near Times Square that will allow you to tour the area, while also being close to the Core II. If I were you I would stay in Times Square in one of the medium priced hotels. They are really nice and allow you to really see the city. Good luck! -Ken
