Generally, I have extraordinary success in healing. After 30+ years in the healing arts, I know pretty much what it takes to heal virtually any disease or condition. But last week a fellow came in with excruciating back pain. He just called in suddenly, a week prior to his first scheduled appointment. He was in so much pain.

I thought, here?s a job for Quantum-Touch. He had been suffering from severe lower back pain for several months and substantial back pain for years. Now, it was practically off the scale. He worked as a computer systems analyst and was not given to ?alternatives? in healthcare, but all of the traditional medical approaches, including chiropractic, had failed to be of help.

I began to run energy. For over an hour and a half I used every technique in the book. Nothing. Zip. The pain was intractable. His body did not seem to be particularly receptive. There was no real shift in the location of the pain and it stayed intensely painful. Apparently, I had failed, and I sent him home to rest.

Stumped, I figured I had been of little service. Even though I spent over an hour and a half working on him, I felt uncomfortable charging my usual appointment fee. I ended up only charging for an hour, and reluctantly at that.

It was especially bothersome because this was his first time to come see me and I had wished for him to have a good experience and a positive impression of alternative methods. At the end of the session, we both felt a bit dejected.

A few days later I decided to call him to follow up. I first called him at work, but couldn?t reach him, so I tried his home. His wife answered. ?Oh, he felt wonderful the next morning,? she said. ?He?s been without pain ever since.? She gave me his correct extension at work, so I called to confirm. ?Yeah,? he said, ?the next morning I felt great. I?ve only had a slight tinge of pain, but only if I turn a certain way.?

Basically, his body had healed rapidly overnight and was continuing to heal. I suggested a maintenance appointment in the future to anchor his healing and prevent any re-occurrence of pain. I think occasional preventative ?tune-ups? are a good way to stay on top of things and maintain a high level of well being.

What I learned from this is that some people are what I call ?delayed reactors.? You can?t always know immediately how effective you have been when doing Quantum-Touch. Although I generally have immediate success, this was a lesson that we don?t always know the power of our love, intention, and attention. Quantum-Touch is doing deep healing, even when we can?t immediately recognize it.

Great post. I've seen this pattern quite a few times. For example, I'd work on someone with a frozen shoulder that's been that way for the last year and thought nothing happened till I hear that the next morning the shoulder was fine.

When I read the results of the sessions people turn in to become certified practitioners, I see this has happened to most people at one time or another. The body heals at its own pace, not necessarily at the time of the session.

Its great for people to know that this may happen, and its actually quite rare to have no obvious effect at all. I wonder how much happens that we cannot perceive.

A few more thoughts:

The job of the practitioner is do the work as well as possible; to do the breathing, the body awareness, to get out of the way, etc. The job of the person receiving the session is to get well.

Whether a client gets better or not is not your responsibility, only that you do your best. It is helpful not to get your ego into the results. You didn't fail if they don't show immediate signs of getting well, nor are you a brilliant "healer" if they appear suddenly better. The body heals itself and the most we can hope for is to help catalyze that process.

I remember on one occasion, a physician asked me to work one of her patients who had liver enzymes 540% above normal. By the end of the session, I could not see any improvement. I got a call six weeks later that the doctor tested the enzyme levels each week and they continued to drop to the high side of normal.

Had I just gone by what I, or the woman I worked on could perceive, I would have judged myself a failure.

I've run into this quite a bit as well. Teaching so many different healers the advanced work has given me the opportunity to hear lots of stories. In my opinion the reason for this delayed reaction is: when many systems in a body are impacted or affected it takes time for the energy to move through it cycle in order for the result to be felt. I'm using the Chinese model of meridians here. It takes 24 hours for Qi to make a full circuit in the body. So a system that is extremely overloaded, may take that amount of time to "process" the new energy and thus "manifest" the result. Sometimes the pain is even worse for a short period of time. Do not despair, again often in 24 hours the client is much better. Sometimes they do need a few sessions to finish the process, but it does resolve.

These are such an important points, especially for 'newbies' . . .
1) TRUST THE PROCESS
2) Sometimes it takes time for the energy to assimilate.
3) Remain unattached to the outcome. Our 'job' is to offer the energy.
Thank you Richard and Alain.

This post is important for all practitioners and shows something else too - always charge fully for your time! Since the client has had the benefit of it and QT, and it's their job to heal, not yours! Don't doubt the process or ever take it personally. Good to remember.

It's amazing how people don't share their improvements with practitioners later, as well. I treated a woman for about 10 minutes at a fair a year ago, she had some disease (I can't remember what) that she was being treated for. It wasn't painful so there was no way of knowing what if anything had changed. I didn't see her for a year but then bumped into her - she said 'you cured me!' She doesn't have that particular problem any more but didn't think to let me know...hehehe. Meanwhile I'm sure I had some negative thoughts about probably not being able to help her. Duh!

Note to self: have complete faith in the beauty and intelligence of the life-force energy combined with love and trust others to do their part in healing themselves.

Hi,

I am encouraged by healing experiences... i wonder whether such healing is permanent and whether the illness ever pass back to the healer ?

thanks
