I am primarily interested in using QT for my laboring patients (I am a nurse and labor doula). I have read the book and have just started practicing QT. I am taking a QT workshop this weekend. I realize that I am a real novice, but when I tried doing a distant healing QT session for a patient I was meeting at the hospital, she was still in tremendous pain. I know distant healing is harder than actually being present. When I met her at the hospital, because I was constantly calming, touching & massaging, I couldn't quite coordinate running energy at the same time. Any advice or suggestions from those that have used it for laboring women would be great! Thanks, Tanya

Dear Tanya
If you check in the instructors/practitioners section, I suggest you get in touch with Joanne Boyer, who is a nurse-anesthestist and has much experience with QT, and uses it in the hospital where she works. I am certain she can assist you.

Long distance healing is just as easy as in person, though you do have to focus on the person even though they are not physically present. Probably it will all be clearer after the workshop you attend. If you have any other questions please continue to post them and we'll do our best to help.

This is a huge issue. I hope to see a progression of this labor pain discussion and a sharing of suggestions and results. < !--color-->

At one of my lectures a midwife told me that she had used Quantum-Touch with five women, and all of them had pain child births. She said these were the first pain child births that she had seen. I'd like to hear from others about their experiences.

I would say that before a woman goes into labor it would be extremely valuable to run energy into the hips, both front and back and the occiptal ridge and neck. I'd keep running energy during labor from the sacrum through to the pubic bone, or wherever the body is calling for it.

I have freqently used Quantum-Touch in the L&D suite with unbelievable results. In the situation of a double set up (giving the patient one last chance to deliver vaginally before we do a STAT C-section), I run the energy into the sacral plexus with (so far) 100% success. During the labor process, the relaxation in the parturient is amazing as is the pain relief. AND newborns love energy. So join me and use Quantum-Touch with total confidence during the birth process and marvel at the results.
