OK call me a worry wart but - what if you think you're reversed, so you do the reversal techniques, but really you weren't - so now you'd be messed up?

Hi -

You're just doing little processes to make sure everything's working correctly - if everything is already working correctly, you won't feel any different! She suggests that these are good maintenance tools, just to make sure everything is running smoothly with the correct polarity.

However, my friend contacted Barbara Mallory and this is a few of the things that she wrote. Here goes:

The tiniest twinge of fear that we're not even aware of can switch our polarity in a nanosecond! And fear that we're not not getting it or doing it right does it every time!! Now you've discovered a (maybe THE) major cause of polarity reversal, and that includes polarity reversal in healers and counsellors and therapists too!!!

Here's an even easier correction for you to try on yourself.
This correction may hold a bit longer than the Belly Button Correction.

POLARITY CORRECTION AND LOCK-IN
1. Rub collarbone points and navel at same time, 20 seconds.
2. Rub navel and tailbone area at same time, 20 seconds.
3. Pull up (gently! gently!) on navel and 3rd eye point (btw. eyebrows & � in. up), 20 sec.
Repeat many times daily if your body polarity is often or chronically reversed.

When you're very familiar with these interventions, you can just do them in your head because ENERGY FOLLOWS INTENTION.

You can't cause any harm doing a polarity correction. "Polarity reversal" refers to a person's body polarity being reversed. The polarity correction is a harmless little intervention which, if the body's energy is reversed, will encourage it to right itself.

Interesting point, but it seems to tie in with what I know about stress and the brain/hormones. There are two circuits in the brain involving the amygdala and hippocampus (search for Michael Persinger or Todd Murphy for interesting results on this!) which decide whether we like or dislike something - whether we need to be afraid or happy about something, basically. Too much trauma or even prolonged crying as babies (I learned recently I used to cry alot!) can over-sensitise the system and make the fear circuit spark automatically, till it's on almost constantly - that's what anxiety is. The reversed polarity is sign of the survival mechanism being on, and that's not designed for anything but short bursts of energy; for normal everyday functioning it needs to be switched off. (If we were really in danger and ran away, or had a fight, the switching process would happen automatically afterwards.) These exercises are switching the fear or survival mechanism off, I think (that's what it feels like anyway.) Once it's switched off, that's o.k - we're back to normal functioning, the way we need to be 99.99% of the time. One way to switch it back on is to be afraid - (or to worry about whether it's on or not...! ) People who worry alot - which includes me - may be living most of our lives in reversal! seems to make sense, anyway, and I did the exercises just now and found them very relaxing and reassuring. A great find and useful addition to the EFT techniques I've been learning thanks to another post recently. So thanks everyone for posting and a useful bit of info to add to my understanding of my mind/body!

Thanks everybody - I thought maybe that's the way it is but needed reassurance. Prone to anxiety. Apparently I could use this technique! Tried it just now, the lock-in Barbara described, and found myself smiling. I'm an "oldest child" and always want to be sure I"m "doing it right."

Since you have been over to my home, overcoming a fear that seemed to prove untrue took a great deal of courage, I have seen nothing but wonder and love in your posts.
