My elder daughter (21) cought a bronchitis a week ago and some symptoms still persisted, especially cough and a pain in her chest. So last night she asked me for a QT session. The following is a report of what happened.
Following her directions I put my right hand - as a tripod - on her breastbone and my left hand straight at the back and I kept that position for about half an hour, modifying my breath patterns. She initially felt as she was heavily sweating (no sweating was actually taking place); she then reported a sensation of 'energy' piercing in her chest, her pain seemed to press from inside her lungs toward outside. At some point the pain reached such an high level that she begged me to stop. I didn't. I preferred running more enegy into her. After a while the pain subsided and a few minutes later we finished our session. Only then she told me that her pain was caused by the sensation of her backbone being twisted and compressed and that the pain lasted until she felt her vertebrae separating from one another (I actually heard the noise of her backbone snapping). At the end of our session her pain in the chest was gone, no more coughing was taking place and she was feeling as a puppet with no cords to keep it straight. |

I'm not comfortable with the notion that someone would continue continuing energy into someone else even though that person asked them to stop. I don't think we should be forcing any of this on anyone. And we should also guard against getting intoxicated with our "power". It's not ours. We are just channelling it.
Just some thoughts. J. |

Yes, stopping when a person asks you to stop is a very good idea. On the occasions where the pain became too great during a session, I'd work to reassure the person receiving the session to breathe deeply and allow me to continue; that the pain will almost always subside, and the healing will probably be quite substantial.
This is one of those occasions where it is important for both the practitioner and you person receiving the session to TRUST THE PROCESS. I've always been rewarded for doing so. In my experience, if a session were to end before the body resolves the issue, (that is, the pain disppears) there is no harm done. The healing will still continue in a very accelerated manner. |

I agree: I have always stuck to the principle that the person who 'receives' is in charge of the process.
What happened this time between Helen and me - and admittedly I was not good in explaining it - was that she was quickly reaching a limit point in her ability to sustain the pain and I asked her to resist. I was ready to stop immediately if she really wanted me to stop. That said, we were both surprised to what happened in her backbone that was not the 'aim' of our session. |

Yesterday I asked Helen about her experience and specifically whether she would have had me stopping when her pain was that high.
She told me "you cannot stop pushing whan the baby is being born". Her reply confirmed the feeling I had during our session that at some level her body was accepting what was going on despite the pain she was experiencing. By the way: her cough had an improvement but it was not completely gone until 36 hours later. Her back was and still is "great". |
