My 13 year old son was playing with some boys last week when he fell backwards and used his left hand to catch him. My son is a cellist and came home from school that day unable to achieve his usual range of motion on the cello. He is in the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra and really needs to keep a daily practice schedule. I ran energy on his hand for about 15 minutes while I was driving him to his cello lesson. He kept saying, "No improvement" after I had run energy into his hand. He ended up doing a theory lesson because he couldn't play without significant pain. I ran energy into his hand some more that evening. The next day he woke up with no swelling and no pain, and no further pain since then. Sometimes it's important to remember that there can be a delay, for what ever reason before the energy kicks in to full gear.
