I seem to have quite a few experiences with "unbelievers" and this is no exception. This is about a weekly massage client of the past 12 years. I clearly remember when I first starting working with her, that she had just quit her regular therapist because she had started doing some type of energy healing that my client did not want. She begged me to never stray away from deep tissue hands-on work. This has been difficult over the past year since learning QT as this woman suffers from multiple muscle and joint problems. Between me, her chiropractor, a few meds and an occasional surgery, she's managed to stay ambulatory most of the time but pain has been a fact of life she dare not question. About 3 weeks ago, in response to her complaints about a knee, I asked if she would please consider letting me do "something different" for just the last 10 to 15 minutes of our session. She relented and I ran energy into the knee. The next week the knee was all better so "could I do it to the right hip?" This week the right hip was all better so "could I do the left hip?" She asked for an explanation of what was going on so I offered a brief synopsis. I don't think it made a whole lot of sense to her but the pain relief did. I just finished reading the 80 or more posts on the science vs energy healing debate on the general discussion board. Maybe we should all just run energy on the skeptics. They might get so blissed out that their defenses would drop for a split second, the heavens might open and they'd all see haloes and light all over the place!
