I was asked to help a 92 y/o woman, who had no use of her arm after a fall. I live in Mexico, and communication is a problem. I worked on her arm which was supposably dislocated, and she had been wearing a sling for almost 6 weeks. I also balanced her head.
On the second visit the family had an x-ray and her arm was fractured up by the Shoulder. It was a little upsetting because I had told them to leave the splint off, as she had no pain afterwards. Also she could now raise her arm up and straighten her hair. The bone was in line. I did not tell them to put the sling back on because there was not pain, swelling, and she would be more likely to fall again if she could not balance using her arms.
She has done great, and her agitation is gone. She is relaxed and more lucid.
