I found another use for Quantum-Touch. I had a patient who was having a wicked bout of hypotension, and I needed to draw an arterial blood sample to check his acid-base status while on the ventilator. Well, trying to get blood out of an artery when the blood pressure is 60/40 is NOT easy. My attending was with me, acting as my cheerleader, and enjoying the fact that I, not he was attempting this procedure. Shift gears, add breathing, and out comes the blood sample. My attending looked at me and asked how I got the blood sample to flow into the syringe. I just smiled. I sure do love when Quantum-Touch makes you look SOOOOoooo good.
