There is a story about my friend.
We were very close. War caused us to leave town we lived in, we turn different paths in life, and weren't in contact. He becomes worldwide famous writter, both gloryfied and disputed.

I met him after 10 or so years. We were talking about what happened to each of us, and I asked him how he managed to publish so many books in only 10 years – started with no support and far away from his home, and how he handled all adversities along the road.
He said to me:
I made myself a promise not to fail- not to abandon myself.
