After reading both books and video workshop plus months of practice, I finally have a healing story. A good friend, while removing wallpaper, fell off of her ladder, hitting her head on the tile floor. Her chiropractor was out of town. She could not turn her head, had a terrific headache both thumbs were so bad she could not grasp anything with them. She called us to let us know in case things got worse. (Her Children are out of town and she lives alone) We said"Come on over and have dinner with us."
She knows nothing about QT, but knew I practiced Reiki, so happily let me work on her. !0 - 15 Minutes with her commenting on the heat and following the pain, she could do neck rolls her headache was gone and her thumbs were back to normal. I think I was more surprised than she was,as I have been trying to use QT on my wife for a long time, using both direct contact and distant. There is not only no response, but sometimes, usually the next day, she says my QT madeit worse. This applies both to her knee and her spinal stenosis. I now just do distant at night for the highest good and really feel the energy, but nothing improves. Any suggestions? I try to back off so I am not trying too hard. Any way, I guess this is both a healing and non-healing story. Bill ANJ |

Bill,
I'm like you, read both books and video workshop and months of practice, and I have also had some successes and some of what LOOK like non-successes. Had one really dramatic healing story, a couple of others not so dramatic and quite a few where it seems the QT had no effect at all. It's really tested my faith, to run energy into someone (my mother, for instance, working on her arthritic hands) for a full hour and have lots of tingling going on, and then have her say, "No, I really don't think there's any improvement..." Or my father, with his two artificial knees, again with no noticeable change. But I know when I'm feeling the energy, and I am beginning to know when things are changing in the client's body...and I continue to trust my gut on this. Sometimes people don't perceive the changes that are happening in their own bodies, sometimes the changes are gradual and subtle, and sometimes people are too attached to the condition to let it go that easily. And another BIG thing I'm noticing/learning is that the more attached I am to the results, the more I get in my own way. I'm quite sure that was a big part of my experience with my parents. It was VERY important to me that I get results with them. I think it's going to take a lot more experience before I'm able to remain as detached as I need to be to get consistent results. Like I said, I'm just going to continue practicing and trusting myself, and I know I'm learning with every experience I have, even (or maybe ESPECIALLY) when it looks like there are no results! Thanks, Douglas,
Your post really helped. I feel better knowing that I am not the only one not getting fantastic results every time. I am sure you are right that the more attached, the harder it is, especially after the client is not responding to the treatment the way we would like. I will also keep trying - partly because of my gut and partly because I am in my seventies and bullheaded as all get out. My gut also keeps telling me that knowing and practicing QT can become valuable and useful for seniors (with the health care changes that may be taking place in the future.) Thanks again, Bill ANJ |
