Hi everyone! This is my first post. I’m Douglas, and I’m an artist living in Honolulu. My 30-year quest to heal myself on every possible level has recently led me to find out more about energy work, and that’s how I found myself standing in Barnes & Noble in front of the energy healing section a few weeks ago, where I found “Quantum-Touch.” I bought the book, was fascinated by it, and immediately began trying the exercises. Two days after I began reading the book, I got a call from my language teacher (Brazilian Portuguese) saying she was in so much pain she was not going to be able to give me the class we had scheduled that day. A health practitioner she’d been seeing had given her an injection in her arm and missed the vein, resulting in a forearm and hand that were swollen and so painful she couldn’t even bear to be touched there. I told her, “Why don’t you come over and let me try something on you that might help.” (I was kind of amazed at my own ballsiness, when I had just begun reading the book and had never done anything of this kind before!) She was in so much pain she was willing to try anything, so she came over and as we sat side by side on my sofa, I began running energy into her forearm and hand. When we started I asked her to rate the pain from 1 to 10 and she said it was an 8. It was hard for her to even tolerate the light touch I used while running the energy. I spent about 50 minutes breathing and running the energy, “chasing the pain” as I had learned from the book, and in that time the pain went down to a 2, and the swelling had visibly diminished. My friend had been planning to take some heavy pain medication that evening and had been dreading it. She never did have to take the medication and when I talked to her a couple of days later, she said the pain had never come back and the swelling was completely gone. She was very grateful, and I was even more grateful for having had the experience. I was (and am) totally amazed that I could learn something so life-changing in a couple of days (not that I don’t know that the learning never stops!). Since that first experience, I’ve worked on some other friends, and have been running the energy on myself for various aches and pains and aside from the obvious benefits of pain relief, I’ve been loving the new awareness I have of both my physical body and my energy bodies. As a longtime meditator, I love the broadening and deepening of self-awareness that is happening as I continue to expand my knowledge of and practice of Quantum-Touch.
