My latest session was on a young woman who'd had keyhole knee surgery and wanted to speed the healing along. This was my third session with her, and what was really bothering her was a sore shoulder, exacerbated by having used a crutch the day after her operation.

She could only move her arm up to about 15 degrees below her shoulder level, and that was with difficulty. She had almost no backward movement and found getting dressed very awkward.

So I worked on the shoulders first, and followed her directions as the pain moved down to a point in her lower back, then under her shoulder blade, then down her arm to a knot in her forearm (which had been there for years.) Every knot started to 'unwind,' change in quality and then disappear. When we'd finished, she could move her arm up easily beyond her shoulder, and also behind her.

It's not exactly miraculous, it did take 40 minutes, but the point is she'd lived with this pain for months because she felt it would be too painful to have any massage or manipulation. QT sorted her out and allowed her body to regain strength in the upper arm muscles, which had started to atrophy a little! She said she'd felt they'd been refusing to work but were now 'kicking in' again.

What a benefit QT is when there simply aren't any other acceptable treatments available. Even if the pain increases for a while (which it did during the session for a couple of minutes) it's a gentle, non-invasive method which is usually comforting and enjoyable - it serves the body rather than assaulting it - and as a former chronic fatigue sufferer I appreciate that element of powerful, but gentle!

I need to remember what I've got here! Sessions like this, where the improvement is so visual, remind me.

Great Story which illustrates the workings of a QT session very well.

Keep up the good work - your posts are always inspiring!
