April 2006 I lay in a coma after a severe Traumatic Brain Injury. My husband Gabriel was told by my doctor “I don’t see a good outcome here”. I was in a coma for approximately 4 weeks. Surprise surprise, I woke up, then spent a few months in Gaylord Hospital. When I ‘woke up’ I was paralyzed on my right side, double vision, inappropriate laughter, aphasia, loss of memory, etc.
I feel grateful that I am avive. The few side effects that remain, I can work on. (I do really enjoy the inappropriate laughter one). Maybe they will be better, maybe now\t, I just do the footwork. These certainly don’t feel like disabilities, in fact, my life is so much richer. I feel loved, people that don’t even know who I am were pulling for me. There was an overwhelming response in the community after this accident, to me and my condition. I realized “Who am I not to love myself, if all these people do?” It is not that I love my hair, or my eyes, I really love me, in all my imperfections. I loved my career, however, I do not miss it. My life is so full jow, just very different. I ran the Sharon Classic 5 mile road race in May 2007! Years prior, I had run the same race, placed second in my age devision. In 2007, my goal was to finish, take as long as I needed. I accept where I am today, not only do I accept it, I love it! I am so grateful for the small things. It is very liberating to not have to win the race, just be in it. I don’t know anything about natural healing. I do know the outcome from my injury, and my life today, I have never bee happier. I don’t know if it is almost “biting it” that gives you some gratitude and perspective. For a chick that wasn’t supposed to wake up, or maybe not walk again, I am doing great! I don’t know what it was- but THANKS HEALERS! Cathleen Cordova |

Wow, what a great healing you did! I love your statement “Who am I not to love myself, if all these people do?” I guess this was a key life lesson for you and I thank you for passing it along.

Wow, I'm so happy I saw this update, thanks so much Eliza and Cathleen!
This story is very close to my heart since I managed the thread and postings between Eliza and the message board when I was on staff at QTHQ. In case anyone is interested in the whole story, here's the link to the original thread: http://quantumtouch.groupee.ne...701069361#8701069361 In my opinion, this is the most amazing story on the board and is well worth the read! Eliza, please tell Cathleen that (in)appropriate laughter is the best gift of all and will remind us to lighten up and not take things so seriously. In the big picture, it's ALL funny and the whole dern mess needs to be laughed at! LOL! |

I am delighted to read of your healing, your mind returning to join you, oh,just all of it.
Aren't these people here wonderful? I am still sending, as our typist-who-screws-us-up- at-every-oppportunity (her name is Mavis, if you too would like to utilize her services). Actually, am sending just cuz I wanna give you everything I can and to be sure you never need Mavis. Just send her home when you have finished with her. Thanks for being such a great healer. zeneagle "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without words and never stops at all" |
