We have a water feature in our back yard – we call it the pond, but it is really not even a respectable puddle. I have four goldfish that are supposed to eat the bugs and algae. Yesterday my husband looked and we had one goldfish that was on the bottom on his side, appearing to be dead. He pulled it out and I held it, giving it about 5 minutes of QT – it didn’t seem to be having any effect at all. I returned it to the water and it floated to the bottom, apparently dead, still on its side. I must admit, my energy was distracted - not my best offering.

I needed to drain and clean the “puddle” - -- bail out most of the water and replace with fresh – we are having problems with the ecosystem because it is so small. So about an hour after returning the fish to the water, I started bailing, throwing the water onto the lawn. My “dead” fish floated in to the pan I was bailing with – still looking dead to me. I figured “Oh well….” Blessed it and tossed it on the lawn.

Over an hour later, my husband was going to mow the lawn and saw the fish. He bent over to pick it up and it jumped!!! He returned it to the water and it darted (not floated) under a rock!!!! I did another 5 minutes of distant QT on the fish in question….

Today, I have – once again – 4 seemingly healthy goldfish. All are upright and swimming. What are the chances of a fish being out of water for over an hour and living???? I’m stunned.

Oh, my...Ithink the chances are slim to none. To say "Good work, Jana" would be an understatement. Way to go!!

PS: We had 5 in. of new snow yesterday. "Water" and "lawn" sound great to me.

Hee Hee! I can't take credit here at all - It was a very distracted use of QT - my heart wasn't really in it. The energy does what it does - apparently even when we haven't got it all together. That was MY lesson....

Not BRRRRR cold here but we had to hurry yesterday to beat the downpour today!!! And it is pouring and California needs it badly!!!!! Snow up in the mountains. Woo Hoo. Love to you and Mimi!

Thanks to your post, my daughter's angel fish didn't need to be given a burial at sea. A few weeks ago, I was cleaning the bottom of her tank and trying not to take it completely down and remove the fish. Well after a couple of partial water changes, the tank was still dirty so I ended up dumping the fish in a large plastic container so I could finish the job. Two of the fish were so stressed out that they were lying down on the bottom on their side. I got my daughter to start sending energy to them while I finished working on the tank. After about 5-10 minutes, the fish were up right and swimming feebly. She continued to do QT until I had the tank filled up and had adjusted the ph and added the conditioner. We put the fish back in and left the pump off for a few hours. The next day, the fish had completely recovered and were happily eating their breakfast of freeze-dried blood worms.
