Would we file a 1099 form for consultants?

Now you ask a question that could be easily answered by someone in the business. But most states in the US and elsewhere are now so heavily regulated that it is illegal for any unlicensed tax preparers to answer your question. Esp0ecially in writing and in public.

That would be a question for your accountant or their tax law attorney.

A 1099 is what someone who pays you money would give you as opposed to your employer giving you a W-2 at year end. If you're wondering about your own tax liability, you'll probably file a Schedule C along with your 1040 long form. If you've never filed taxes yourself before, I'd take it to a tax professional.
