How Do I Simply Offer QT Sessions?Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
Hi everyone I am 24, going to university full time, I have a part time job that doesn't pay well and it is hard on my feet if I go too many days/week for too many hours. At present, I go usually for 4 hours and maximum 6 hours. Why do I work there? I love it (in the garden center at the home depot) However, I know that I deserve more, a richer life doing the work I am really keen on doing which also offers greater financial stability. Not only this, I know I have more to offer to people than what I am doing now. By that, I mean Quantum Touch. Right now, if I knew the massage therapist down the road was a QTer, I would be in her door two years ago. I want QT, and I wonder if people, even if they don't know of it, want it too as they learn more about it. That aside I simply want to offer it to others (perhaps that means advertising?), and I am not sure how to go about doing that. I can't exactly offer in my mother's home as we don't have a space or a room for it. I do not have my practitioners certificate yet, I really am not sure about the particulars, if I need it to offer QT as a service for a bit of extra income. Because I don't have my practitioners certificate I would charge half of what massage therapists in this area charge, but again, I don't know how to go about doing it, and I don't feel completely secure in myself doing this yet. Any ideas? Suggestions? Rebecca

You can't legally offer Quantum-Touch without certification. You can offer energy work though. Aside from the trademark infringement, you'll need to check your area's governmental regulations to see if you need to be covered by some sort of license, like a medical, massage, or minister's license. Energy work may or may not be regulated in your area. Once you've determined if you can practice in your area. I suggest word of mouth as the best way to build a heart-centered business. (Like Brian Whetten's Selling by Giving program.) Offer sessions to your friends, your friend's friends, etc. They'll refer your wonderful work to people they know. Offer 'a taste of value,' a sample of what you do. You can offer an hour, with the value of that taken off a 10-visit package if they pay you up front. Or offer 5 or 10 minute sessions at health fairs or on Saturdays at your local natural food store, farmer's market, or similar venue. I don't know what's in your area but you do. This isn't the fast way to build a business but it is a steady way to do it. Check out Brian's free teleclasses. I don't have the link -- Google it, you'll find it for sure. Selling by Giving is a great program. I realize you may not be able to afford it at this point but you'll get that initial "taste of exceptional value" that you can use to get you started. This message has been edited. Cris, is your first sentence a typo? (The word "can" ?) You cannot legally offer QT for money unless certified as Practitioner. You can do it free for friends, acquaintances, and relatives, but you cannot advertise Quantum Touch or charge a fee for it if not certified. Everything else in your post is wonderful, but in that first sentence, the word "can" should read "can't." Happy New Year to you and your family! Love to all. Alice H. Unless they changed the rules (again) yes, you CAN offer QT for money if you're not certified. You just can't call it Quantum-Touch. Wishing you Blessings of Pure Love, Light, Laughter, and Big Warm Hugs, Chrissie

Ali, Yes, it was a typo. Amazing what one little letter can do to an entire sentence. :-/ Thanks for catching that.
Chrissie, That's basically what I intended to say up there -- call it something else. It would be copyright and trademark law, not QT rules, that would effect a change. Or QT headquarters not pursuing a defense of their trademark. Thank you Cris, Alice, and Chrissie! I'm going to recap here to be clear. I CAN offer Quantum Touch as a not-yet certified QT giver for money, but I mustn't advertise it as QT. Now, if someone I am working on asks just what this energy is, or where I learned it, can I tell them that I learned it from the Quantum Touch workshops? Giving that a twist, can I offer Quantum Touch saying and advertising it as Quantum Touch, but for NO money? (Like, "Everyone, over here! Free sessions of Quantum Touch!")

The short answer: You can't advertise that you do Quantum-Touch unless you're certified, but if somebody asks what kind of energy work you're advertising, you have every right to tell 'em the honest truth. And, yes, you certainly CAN offer QT sessions, for free or otherwise, without being certified and without working toward certification. I certainly offered my family QT regularly before I even took my first workshop. trane -- // Wellness coaching, meditation, QiGong and energy healing // E-mail: Trane Francks <trane@living-intentionally.com> // Website: Living Intentionally // Our next workshop is Apr 27-28 // Follow us on Facebook and Twitter

Hi Rebecca, I think we have clarified that you can practice and even charge money for your services as long as you don't advertise it as Quantum-Touch. That said, I would highly recommend that if you are servious about doing this as a profession that you begin the certification process as soon as possible. If you're not clear on the requirements, here is the link to the web page which explains them http://www.quantumtouch.com/in...icle&id=68&Itemid=80 Also here is a recording on one of my sites where I give you some tips on how to stay focused on the certification process. The page is a little out of date, but the recording I'm talking about is the first one. I start talking about this about 1/4 of the way into it. http://www.healingbusinesssucc...tumTouchSuccess.html Regarding a place to practice. If you are billing yourself as an intern working toward certification, that massage therapist up the street may be more than happy to have you come in and work on her clients for a reduced rate. There most likely would be some sort of fee split arrangement between you. That way she gets a little compensation for her time and promotion. This could be a win-win situation which could even lead to a place to practice as a professional. Wishing you the very best on your QT journeys, Cassandra Sandy Freschi Certified Quantum Touch (R)Practitioner Former QT Level I Instructor www.lessonsonhealing.com www.coachingwithsandy.com
