Well THIS is a great idea for a forum topic!

I've been using QT for just over a year now. To me that sounds shocking as I've been a certified practitioner for nearly 8 months! But if you're driven like I was (and still am!), you can do anything...even gather 60 practice hours in a few months Big Grin I mean when you think about it, if you just did 1 hour a day, you'd be half-way there in a month right? (just find yourself a good handful of willing participants aka immediate family members and you're golden Wink)

The first big helpful tip for me was to RELAX. Especially in the beginning, you're concentrating so much and thinking about all these things, it's easy to tense up somewhere, which can hinder the flow. Take a good deep breath, be loose and have fun!

I found that many times I felt really overwhelmed by the sensations I was experiencing while working on someone. Several times I've felt various parts of my body madly buzzing and my fingers in my hands pulling inwards to meet the thumbs in a pinching sort of motion. (I realized later on that the energy radiating from my fingertips wanted to join with the energy from the palms to create a stronger, more intense unified flow.) There have been times when it was all I could do to keep up with my breathing as it really felt like the energy flow was off doing it's own thing!

I have taken into account the possibility of hyperventilating, as that certainly is something to consider, however I'd been very watchful and even avoided firebreathing for a time...it sill occurred.

I received some great advice in chat about it...I believe it was from Luvshelper (If I'm remembering right?) which was to do your best to relax and become one with that flow. It really does become easier and less intense over time. Phew!

Does the energy meet? I believe this comes into play in the supercharging class. What I found works great for me is to envision that my body and arms are electrical wires feeding the lightbulb (which is the field of energy I'm creating within a person) As I sweep and breathe, the bulb lights up, so in a sense, the energy (or light) originates within the field/lightbulb and not from me.

Same goes with toning. I envision the sound originates from within the field and not from me.

If you feel sensations in your hands while working, try moving your hands around different areas of the body and pay real close attention to the quality of the 'buzz' or 'temperature'

The first time I did this was on one of the first distance sessions I tried. I started at the head and ran my hands slowly down the woman's back. As I came down her torso my right hand suddenly got hotter and then cooler as I continued down to her lower back. I went back up and determined that it came from her right breast. I contacted the lady and sure enough she was having a biopsy done there as she found a lump the week prior.

Another interesting sensation I discovered was a sharper, prickly, almost painful sensation while moving my hands over a certain spot. (again distance session) I came to realize this signified the site of a considerable blockage, which the supercharging techniques amping and unan helped clear up. After the session the sensation was replaced with a pleasant warm flow and the client confirmed a great improvement in the spot.

hmm...maybe two more tips for the advanced QT students...

Pretty much as part of setting up an area I want to work on, I surround the spot with an unan, encase it in a silver bubble, and then fill with equal parts of copper, silver, gold. For me I always feel an immediate increase in the sensations in my hands as it seems to help amp up the energy flow to that area.

I was using the core technique of 'steaming' on a client recently, in a spot of literally several decades of chronic painful tension. I had the impulse to open the 'steam valves' really wide. Suddenly the amount of steam I perceived being released increased tenfold and the work progressed much faster than before.

So I think that's it from me for now. Good luck and happy QTing! Big Grin

Hey Sonja

Thanks for the silver bubble tip. Going to specifically try that one. Have done supercharging techniques from DVD's but am attending workshop in June, so hoping that will increase my awareness of energy flow even more.

Love

beautiful post.
I had my hands do that (tensing up) when I first started QT, but heard that it was hyperventilation so now I have been just doing slow breaths.

I miss it though because it had such strong tingling and now I don't feel any of that!
