I don't have the 2 books yet, but i won't get those in for another few days. My question is what can i do to start before i get the books in? I've tried to meditate, but I am the most impatient person in the world and i get really frustrated at times. I don't have any skills what so ever or knowlodge of chakras or anything else in that matter, and that's why i wanted to learn QT so atleast i know something i can do to help others.

I do have alot of love in my heart, but i just don't have the patience. I do have a hard time breathing sometimes, since i used to have asthma when i was a child which is mostly gone, but i still have some troubles every now and then with breathing.

hmm.. do you do any exercise? I'm quite a newbie too, but before I ever encountered QT, I've done some yoga, it helps to still the mind. I am by nature a restless person and cannot keep still, thought yoga was a bad choice initially, but surprisingly, it was one of the best things I ever got myself into Smiler And after that doing QT, it was pretty easy in terms of getting th breathing techniques. But I believe all kinds of exercise will help with the breath as it will open up your lungs. Even walking is good to help practice breathing. Perhaps you can try walking slowly and taking a breath at each step.

I'm sure some instructors around can help you better, just my 0.02 worth!

Patience is what we learn by waiting. So, patience, dear, patience. QT ships fasts so your books will arrive quickly. Umm, if you're in the US, that is.

What I did before QT was to imagine health and clean air flowing through my body as I took deep breaths while thinking positive thoughts. I did it for just a couple of minutes whenever I thought about it.

Hi, Aaron - Since you say you sometimes have trouble with breathing, and also are feeling very impatient, which would indicate that you're centered in your thoughts and in the future, rather than in your body and the here-and-now, this is what I would suggest you do now:

First of all, to help center you in your body, at your physical, spiritual and emotional center of gravity:

(1) Bring one hand to your lower belly, so that your palm is lying lightly across it (between your navel and your pubic bone), and lay your other hand lightly on the small of your back.

(2) Bring your attention to the point in the center of your body midway between your two hands, and breathe, as if you are breathing into and out of that point.

(3) Do this several times, or until you feel comfortable with it.

Now, to help with your breathing, while you still have your hands in the above position:

(1) Imagine that a deflated balloon is inside your belly.

(2) As you inhale into the balloon, it inflates, along with your belly. (That is, your belly expands along with the balloon.)

(3) As you exhale, the balloon deflates, along with your belly. (That is, your belly contracts along with the balloon.)

You can do this for five minutes or as long as you like. This is abdominal breathing. However, abdominal breathing is not a special type of breathing. It is how we should be breathing if we're breathing correctly. If you don't feel your abdomen expand/contract as you inhald/exhale, you're breathing too shallowly and possibly doing "chest breathing."

When people have trouble with the QT breathing, it's often because they have bad breathing habits - and the majority of us do not breathe correctly. So this would be a great thing to practice a few minutes a day even after you get your QT book.

Good luck!
