hi guys! I'm having some trouble differentiating between resonance and entrainment. can anyone help provide a clear distinction between the two? thanks in advance.

Great question and I'm going to over-simplify-

Think of resonance as the vibration of energy
and think of entainment as the tendancy for one system (body) to match the vibration of another body or of it's surroundings.

With QT, it's like this:

A healthy, vibrant body is vibrating at a fast rate. As it sickens or is injured, the vibrations slow down (it's resonance is slower and lower). By surrounding the ailing part with a higher vibration (QT/life-force energy), the body/part wants to match it's environment and raises it vibration, accelerating it's own healing.

Here's how I look at it:

We all know that everything in existence is made of energy and all energy vibrates , even the energy in rocks. I know, amazing, right? With consciousness, we can alter the rate of our own vibration, the QT techniques being the easiest, fastest ways I've found (except laughter).

Matching vibrations is resonance. If you have a piano and a guitar sitting close to each other and you hit the A key, the A string on the guitar will vibrate but the other strings will just sit there. They won't resonate with the vibration of A.

Entrainment is the process of matching another vibration. Have you ever been in a great mood and then walked into a room where people were fighting, have you felt your energy drop? Or have you gone to a party in a sad mood and been lifted by the happy energy at the party? That's entrainment! It happens naturally all the time, to us and in nature. Fireflies winking along at their own rate will entrain as they pass each other. Drivers who use angry energy on the road can entrain a whole highway to their angry energy in minutes!

It seems that it's much easier to entrain to a lower vibration. I wonder why that is? One happy person in an angry crowd gets lost, but one angry person can start a riot!

The great news is that the principles of resonance and entrainment can be harnessed by all of us to accelerate healing, on the self or others. By paying attention to how we feel (how we're vibrating), we can use our consciousness and techniques at will. QT techniques open us to the awareness of our own feelings and emotions, increases intuition and adds power to our intentions. We can decide how or when to raise our vibration, what we're going to resonate with and entrain to. The lower vibrations of others will have less impact the more we practice and become aware.

And that's the Good News about resonance and entrainment!

When two systems are oscillating at different frequencies, there is an impelling physical force called resonance that causes the two to transfer energy from one to the other. KEY WORD: TRANSFER.

Example -- Guitar strings, piano strings

Entrainment is the process by which things align their movement and energy together to match in rhythm and phase. KEY WORDS: MATCH, ALIGN. Another word could be SYNCHRONIZE.

Examples -- Electrical oscillators, grandfather clocks against a wall, women living in dormitories.

When working with QT, the Practitioner raises the vibration of his or her life-force energy, and holds that vibration.

The client will entrain with and match that frequency. This is the heart of Quantum Touch.

hmm... so am I right to say that:

Resonance is a phenomenon where there'll be resultant frequency that's much stronger and powerful than the two originally different frequencies

Entrainment is a process to 'manifest' this phenomenon called resonance; and that this entrainment represents all this healing the body is doing so as to reach resonance?

hmm.. am i confusing you guys more???
