do you not like -
my face,
my shape,
the way I walk,
the style of my hair,
my religious beliefs,
the sound of my name,
the way that I speak,
my ideas,
the food that I eat,
my views,
the country that I am from,
the colour of my skin,
my kindness towards you?

do you know -
God made you and me and everyone else -
no person any better and no person any less?

do you feel -
alone,
skeptical,
hurt,
unloved,
annoyed,
worthless,
cheated,
wronged,
immoral,
taken advantage of,
invisible,
questioned,
unrecognised,
defensive,
fear, when you see yourself in me,
not in control,
pain,
uncertainty,
that life has been unfair,
afraid,
you are grasping at straws,
anything, for fear of feeling nothing,
my kindness to you is not genuine?

Do you know -
God made you and me and everyone else -
no person any better and no person any less?

do you -
knock down those that are different in order to rise up,
gang up with others not to be alone,
allow your pain to continue to seek sympathy,
ignore someone to feel superior,
say or think "what's in it for me",
dominate others to feel in control,
speak to hear your own voice,
seek praise to feel worth,
stay in a bad mood because it's easy,
keep score to feel superior,
lash out to avoid looking inside,
prejudge new ideas to feel smug in your views,
torture yourself and others out of guilt,
hurt loved ones, because they are the easiest to hurt,
mock my kindness because you cannot return the gesture?

do you know,
that I and everyone also feels the same things that you do,
your ego - your human self - has an insatiable appetite to control and perpetuate,
God - your higher self - is filled with love, does not judge and is infinite,
you are the silent warrior fighting the inner battle and,
that in quiet victory two become one,
unconditional love is given freely with no strings attached,
you are never alone,
smiles cost nothing,
God made you and me and everyone else -
no person any better and no person any less,
the spirit in me honours the spirit in you?
