I regard the late Christopher Reeve as one of the greatest heroes of modern times. When I heard of his accident, and the severity of it, I thought he would decide to have his respirator turned off. Instead, with the love, support, and unending courage of his incredible wife, he went on to direct and act in films, he founded the Christopher Reeve Foundation for people with spinal cord injuries, and he never gave up hope that he would walk again.

His determination paid off; he regained sensation in his ENTIRE BODY (which was supposed to be impossible), he was able to move his arms and legs, he was well on his way to walking again.

He said:

"At first our dreams seem impossible, then they seem improbable; then, when we summon the will, they become inevitable."

He should know.
