Okay guys!! Here is another one of Becki's polls!! And I am so excited to present it!!

Okay, Here is the question:

And Thank you for voting!!!! :0)
Love Rebecca

Question:
I feel weak in certain moments, and I often feel this way regarding specific stuff in my life, like big scary jumps into the unknown, or meeting and talking to people whether i love them and feel close to them or not at all... This kind of thing.

Choices:
Should I admit (is that the same thing as affirming?)to myself (and others who are involved) that I am weak at times in certain areas?
Should I say (is this affirming?), "No, I'm a strong-y! I can do anything I want to and face any obstacle!" even though it seems at the moment like a totally bull crap and a lie to myself and any others who I am going through the experience with and who v
Should I know in myself that I am constantly changing and not to worry about it - it's all a process (It is hard for me to relax with the Now, mind you!! I really get stuck in living in the little ego world which likes to make up silly, decapitating stori
Should I get alone alone until I can get in touch with my essense and the essense of all things?
Or, should I continue on and try to push myself out of the comfort zone into new horizons that are scary, especially if I get a sense that it, or the person, will be good for me.

None of the above.

I'd recommend:
1) EFT: You can get a free introduction at emofree.com

2) Eckhart Tolle's works:
The Power of Now.
A New Earth.

3) Oprah.com
A ten-week series based on Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth" is still available. Eckhart and Oprah conduct a discussion and interact with people who Skype in or call in.

Oprah has a lot of good offerings that may attract your attention.

Good luck.

4) Exercise: Qigong, Yoga, walking...

Well.. Jen, thank you very much. I find this very interesting, your suggestions. I first did EFT a year ago and do it once in a while, which I would like to be doing more often. Smiler So, there is something more I could try.

And, I am in the last quarter of Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth, and I just bought The Power of Now, as well as Wayne Dyers, Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life.

I also visit Oprah.com regularly since about 3 months ago and listen to Tolle among many of the others visitors Oprah has conversations with in her Soul Series. I think I watched 8 of the 10 week series of A New Earth classes.. and downloaded many as well.

As for those specific exercises - gosh. How about belly dancing and fencing? I'll be joining those classes soon, haha... And walking? Well, I ran and fast walked for the first time in a long time this morning. Felt wonderful.
May I ask if you are currently doing Qigong, Yoga, and walking? If so, how goes it?

Going back to the poll, though... I think you are right although I would like to add something.
If I come from Wayne Dyers Taoist approach and/or Tolle's approach, I would suggest detachment from the forms of things, detachment from friends who aren't really friends, or from outcomes that I think will provide me with happiness, or detachment from ... whoever or whatever, including the form my body takes, or the thoughts my mind thinks. What is also helpful is seeing the ego in myself and others whenever it comes up, and even for to explanation negativity I feel and/or react to.

So, Jen, thanks for humoring my poll and making suggestions which kind of shows me I am already on the right path, in a round about way. Smiler

So many ways to look at things; Tao Te Ching talks about how 1000 concepts can be sliced further into each another 1000 more concepts with finer and finer degrees of meaning and comparisons...W. (von) Goethe was guided by always looking to connect the practical with the theoretical and to alternate doing and thinking, checking one against the other...i suppose there is a grounding to this approach.. All the best to you

Ali Smiler thanks for your cheer. I think what I will do next that scares me is ask someone if I can join them to toss the football. And perhaps not run away from people who love me when I am very vulnerable and I think everything I am feeling is wrong and to be upfront without shame about how I feel Smiler

Thanks willingsand for you 2 cents also. In Wayne Dyer's book he talks about the 10,000 things because he wrote the book from theTao de Ching, so I am guessing all the things in life that are there are the 10,000 things? I'm not sure what you meant, though. Like tediousness? Pettiness? hm..

But yes, I can see how thinking some and doing some alternately would have a grounding effect..

Sometimes over-analysis is counter-productive. While the viewpoints of Mouse and Eagle are both useful, sometimes one must take a leap.....step back from Mouse, and embrace Eagle.

Dicing things up into smaller and smaller pieces makes it impossible to see the Big Picture. A thousand things, or ten thousand, is pretty intimidating, or can be. Perhaps taking a look thru the eyes of Eagle will give a new perspective.

Enjoy the flight!

Hi Ali,
Yes, I completely agree. Accept and focus on self. I find that as I am focusing more and more on myself (this means there becomes no such thing as competition, status, etc) I become stronger, and live my life, not the life that I think I should live according to what I find out there.
And, whenever this clearness within myself comes, oh, do I ever feel peaceful, Ali, stillness and self-love. And, just this very moment where I am either learning something, being focused on what is being presented to me at this moment, or simply being.

Thank you and much love,
Rebecca

Ali you are so brilliant!

Rebecca, I was wondering do you do anything artistically, such as painting or journalling? I know you can write. I was wondering if you journal if you have looked into altered journalling? Anyone can do it and I find it really is a wonderful way to get outside yourself and feel free from all the internal termoil while really dealing with it at the same time. If you know what I mean. If you google altered journals or go to YouTube and do an altered journal search you might be inspired. It is just adding more creativity to an already creative outlet. I hear my young self in your searching. I am one who is prone to depression and self search and I must say doing things like this, creative journalling or anything with an artistic outlet is vary satisfying.

I do agree with Ali, she is a very wise woman and has helped me as well as others so many times!

Well that is my two cents for the day!

I hope you find your way, only you can do it!

Take care and wishing you the best!

Jay

*chuckle* Jaybean Smiler Hi. Yes, I play improvisational piano, draw, paint, learn languages, learns songs I love the sound and meaning of in various languages, belly dance, write poetry. I used to keep a journal consistently, and now, whenever I am inspired, I just grab my school books or a loose piece of paper and write till it is all out. I have never heard of altered journaling though. I'll check it out.

There is something I have been thinking about lately. You know how, when someone's environment is rough and tough, a person develops a rougher, thicker skin for their own self-preservation. They may become stealthy, tucking their heart away or even becoming closed-hearted (until it is safe to "come out"), or cold, watching out only for themselves especially when they are alone in an unfriendly, non-amiable environment. So, this is a natural reaction for everyone, and it is seen constantly in nature. So, what I mean is, it is even good to develop a tougher skin that is meant to provide for and protect oneself, because no one else will do so. Why do I bring it up, well, because I think I need to develop some toughness because I get hurt too easily by anyone - even strangers or classmates or professors whose person and actions mean nothing to me, and whom my person and actions mean nothing to them. And often I even feel hurt by silly, small things that are meaningless, unintentional, or even sometimes non-existent or made up in my head, or when I misunderstand and don't take the to clarify what was said meant from the people who adore me and only want to make me feel good.

So, in this there is a piece about sticking up for myself, being close to myself and sure about who I am and not basing who I am on how people perceive me, being confident, etc, and another piece about attachment and caring too much about the exterior happenings and people who should never be able to affect me.

Well gees there you go again answering your own questions! LOL! That is good! All that you said above is true for most of us! We all learn in our own time!

I hope you do look up Altered Journals on YouTube or wherever, I would love to see some of your artwork on YouTube someday! I am sure it would be very profound! There are some fun instructional video's from Millande, Suziblutube, and timewithtashcha and many more. It really is fun and inspiring if nothing else.

Rebecca, I stole this quote from Chris in her healing request for Rhonda up above and it sounded so appropriate here for you as well as for many of us, myself included! "the 4th agreement of The Four Agreements. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST -- Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret." (Chris, hope you don't mind me borrowing this") I read the Four Agreements and thank you Chris for reminding me of it's truths!

Btw, Rebecca Grace, it is good to see you back here!

Good luck to you on your journey to self
discovery!

Jay

Well that is part of it if you want it to be that way. Some of these can be works of art. It really needs to be explored more than youtube for instance there are many books out on the subject. Basically it is painting, drawing or collaging into your journal and adding paint or drawings to it. Doodling can be a way, watercolor, etc. Try a youtube search on Moleskine or moleskin journals.
There is some pretty amazing stuff there. The Moleskin journals are very interesting...they have some incredible exhibits on moleskin art!

for example, I don't know if this will work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9TiB0aYIlA&feature=related

some of these people carry their Moleskin journal/sketchbooks everywhere jot their thoughts down or maybe a scene. Some are never without a journal...I don't know...I find this very healing. I find when I am doodling, drawing, etc. It helps me be in the Now! Anyway I hope you enjoy the youtube moleskine at least.
