On Running Energy

At first glance running energy is a very easy activity, but to do your best requires a great deal of intention and allowing. The irony is that if you try too hard, you will only get in your own way. Here is a breakdown of what I mean:

First, you want to come from a place of knowing that all is well and the body will heal itself in the most appropriate way possible. Except for a fire breath, allow each of your inhalations to be combined with a full body sweep with as much internal sensation as you can generate. If you can, open yourself to a full measure of joy, gratitude or love, as this will improve the quality of energy. Above all, allow this whole process to be easy and playful. This is not hard work, and making it hard reduces your effectiveness. HAVE FUN.

Running energy is truly a skill that can and will wonderfully affect many areas of your life and those around you.

A Case Study on Bowed Legs

The following is an excerpt from a letter written in response to an inquiry about a remarkable healing story on our website. Prior to a Quantum Touch lecture I usually do some quick demonstrations to all who want to experience the sensations and effects of QT, time permitting. At this Chicago lecture, Sally was brought to the front of the audience by her mother and grandmother just a few minutes prior to the time scheduled for me to speak. Sally received maybe 5 minutes of Quantum-Touch before I needed to begin speaking. Sometime during the lecture, maybe half way through, Sally's Mom raised her hand and stated to the audience, "You all have to see this" and stood Sally on a table for all to see. She then told the story of what happened to Sally in the back of the room to which the crowd cheered and applauded them. Immediate? Not quite, but surely within half an hour. Do you think Mom, Sally, or the grandmother, let alone most if not all present cared whether it took a few minutes or happened instantaneously?
Sally had been undergoing painful therapy work on her legs for some time prior to this. Many of my over a thousand Quantum Touch sessions result in the client's body making its desired shift(s) in a time span from minutes to overnight after a session. This is common as a body shifts when it is ready, not when I or they think it should. I often joke with the "head folks" that true healing will occur when they get out of their head and back into their heart. Remember Sally's legs shifted when she was standing in the back of the room, totally oblivious to me I'm sure, trying to reach a velvet rope across a doorway. And only after she reached for it, unsuccessfully, and stepped back a bit, did she respond to her Mom's comment "That's OK Sally, you will be able to reach it next year" by stepping forward again to the rope, reaching up to grasp and this time grasping it as her legs straightened. There were many joyful remarks from the audience as Mom shared this story.
This is a common event and I have many remarkable stories from my clients, my lecture and workshop attendees, and the many people I encounter on a day to day basis and just reach out and share Quantum-Touch. The picture of Sally was taken by me a couple months after our brief session. I normally don't photograph before and after, but in this instance I stopped by prior to a subsequent lecture to take a "follow-up" picture at their home because it touched my heart, and possibly could be an illustrative message to others to never give up. This is why we share our stories so others with similar situations might get the impetus to experience Quantum-Touch and even empower themselves by taking and utilizing a Quantum-Touch workshop. I do a lot of Quantum- Touch with children and adults now, from an 8 month fetus, premature babies, some with drug and alcohol impacts, to teens and beyond. Physical, sometimes behavioral, and emotional shifts are clearly noticed by me, their families, their doctors and family services staffs in different agencies. If the Shoe Doesn't Fit - Try QT

I just had to tell you about a special healing I received during a May 21/22 QT seminar. I didn't even realize it until the next morning when I was getting ready for work. I was putting my sneakers on and they were terribly uncomfortable and didn't fit right. At first I thought I put them on the wrong feet, and then I looked for wrinkles in my socks. No.. I tried again and I couldn't walk I was so off balance. This was very confusing so I sat down and thought about things for a few minutes. I thought about the seminar and how bones can move and shift and realized something must have changed in my feet. I was wearing sandals all weekend and hadn't noticed anything different, until I tried to put my sneakers on. I removed the orthopedic inserts from my sneakers and then they fit fine. I just plain didn't need them anymore. That was so amazing to me because I hadn't even thought about it as something that needed to be healed. Thanks again for wonderful training you give.

QT and Childbirth

Last month I gave birth for the third time. I planned to use QT during my birth and had practiced it for the last 3 months of my pregnancy. I was hoping to gain more awareness and a method for dealing with the pain and obstacles that are part of natural childbirth, the same obstacles that I had during my 2 previous natural births. Now that the birth is behind me I'm very impressed with what QT gave me. I gained most of all the ability to focus and concentrate, without letting the pain "take over". I was able to breathe through all the contractions without feeling anxious, or stressed out. I felt like I had a tool to use, instead of feeling frustrated that my birth wasn't moving along fast enough. Running energy onto my abdomen during contractions, using the "chase the pain" method on myself made the contractions slightly less painful but more focused, so I felt that each contractions was more effective, but also enabled me to rest well between each contraction. The birth ended up being just the way I wanted it to be, and I remember feeling totally energized when it was over, instead of the exhaustions I expected.

My baby seems to be a pretty calm and happy baby from the start, and that might just be his personality, but might also be due to all the positive energy he got during the last trimester of the pregnancy and during his birth! I'm very grateful that I had the opportunity to learn QT and that I got so much out of it! I especially wanted to thank my group facilitator, Shellye Horowitz, for her instruction and support! QT should definitely be part of prenatal and parenting courses!"

Doctors Called It A Miracle

My story began with my spine...I have two ruptured discs and stenosis...plus at the same time they found a tumor in my arm bone (which turned out to be non-cancerous). The pain was absolutely unbearable...the only thing that helped was QT. My best friend and I took a week long class in February - and it sure saved my life. In April and May I spent 6 weeks in bed in the worse pain I had ever experienced in my life. The Doctors prescribed every drug known to man...nothing at all worked except when my girlfriend would come over every day and do QT and we quickly showed my loving husband how to do QT. So between them taking turns everyday healing me it worked. The pain immediately went away when they laid their hands on my back and neck ...it was the only relief that I could get....The doctors said I need two high risks operations to fix my spine and to remove the stenosis from my neck. When I went back to the doctor to discuss the surgery dates, he said I no longer needed the surgery and it was a miracle. My husband and I were stunned and so is my family, my work place and friends. To see me in such pain for so long and now I am finally back to work. I was able to drive for the first time since April 20th...it is now June 6th....I will be forever grateful that we learned QT. It literally saved my life....thank you ...I am more inspired then ever to give and receive this wonderful healing...

Varicose Veins Disappear

A massage client had a patch of varicose veins and surrounding adhesions and dark patches in the tissues on the lateral side of his left leg several inches above the ankle. He attributed it to an old ankle sprain. After learning QT, I began to use it on this area during his bi-monthly massage sessions, spending no more than 5 minutes there at a time. After the first session, I noticed that the adhesions were much softer and the veins less pronounced. So at each visit I continued to apply these mini treatments. Now a year later, I've noticed that the dark patches are much lighter, the veins have disappeared and all that is left is a tiny hard nodule where the crop of veins used to be. Just a reminder that even the smallest bit of QT helps over time.

Spread Your Wings and Fly!

In the spirit of appreciating the interconnectedness of all living things, I wanted to share this little story...

Sunday morning a bird flew against my dining room window, which sadly enough happens once in a while. I checked, and the little finch (I'm not sure... soft grey feathers, yellow belly) was lying on the ground with his neck twisted 180 degrees, and his beak wide open.

I ran out to hold him, and run energy into him, and although I have held other live birds in my hands ("window thing"/ wild creatures seem to know I want to help), they usually are scared and struggle somewhat. This little bird let me scoop him up (I was already running energy) and within about a minute his heart beat slowed and his eyes came back into focus. Even with my cat meowing at my feet, he never got excited again. After a couple of minutes, his beak twitched a little, and I started stroking it and talking to him in a sing-song voice and after about two minutes he closed his mouth (I had interesting feedback from someone in the workshop with singing as I was working, a tool suggested by Debra and Richard Austin, my instructors for the Basic Workshop). Then he closed his eyes and seemed to go to sleep, in fact his heart beat slowed to where I could barely detect it... so I kept doing what I was doing, but started asking him if he wanted to fly... sending impressions of wind and soaring. His feet twitched, and he stood in my hands, but although my palms were open now, to release him, he just kept looking at me. He let me continue to stroke him with one finger, and didn't flinch as I lifted him closer to my face to peer at him eye to eye. After another couple of minutes, he gathered himself and flew away.

My cat had decided to wait patiently at my feet during this process, and never even flinched as the bird flew away... my hands had soft downy feathers on them, but she just eagerly reached up for some loving when I bent down to her... she never even sniffed my hands... and she is usually quite the panther.
